House of the Month

A Stylish & Chic Historic Richmond Home

I'm so excited to introduce the very first House of the Month! Every month I will give you the full tour of different houses I love and ones that I've been dying to check out! This house was built in 1925 and is located in the historic district of Richmond, in a neighborhood called Laburnum Park. How cute is this turquoise front door?!

The house belongs to a friend of mine, Jenny and her precious family. Jenny is a Star Director with Stella & Dot and was my sponsor when I was with the company a couple years back. Their home was on the Historic Richmond Garden Tour in 2013. I love her style and home decor. Its chic and bright, absolutely fitting of Jenny's sweet and charming personality. Here's Jenny and her golden-doodle, Teddy. This is her favorite room--the sun room, its all windows & just off the living room! I'm loving this clear table with the coral stools underneath!
The foyer (from the front staircase). It's amazing how much fresh flowers can do for your home! Look how much color the orchids and tulips bring to this room. It's a great way to liven up the space!
Another Foyer Shot. Love the cowhide rug, gives the home a swanky feel and also gives great texture to the room.

In the Foyer looking towards the back of their house into the hallway that leads to the kitchen. How amazing is this turquoise and gold stencil?! I just love this design :)

This family room sums up the definition of chic. I love the elegant gold coffee table coupled with the comfy white sofa and bold accent pillows. The clear table (to the left) gives is a trendy and modern look and the stools underneath are practical for entertaining & storage.

The family room connects to the foyer, dining room & sun room. These chairs are stunning! I love the mirrored piece in the corner. Mirrors always help to make the room look bigger!

Check out this vibrant dining room! The neutral wall & panels make all the colors really pop! I love the upholstered chairs & the accent pattern on the back. The chandelier is fabulous-although the moroccan pattern is overlapping in this shot.

All white everything!! For a clean & crisp look, white is the way to go! How gorgeous is this kitchen? I love the white cabinets & the white/grey marble countertops!

This morning nook is genius, especially for tight spaces! Great for kids!

Obsessed with this black & white striped chandelier and the kids framed artwork- adds such character to a home.

Downstairs Half Bathroom. Loving this gold & black geometric wallpaper! Ideal for small spaces.

Standing on the back porch looking into the backyard, with a view of their guest house on the right.

Gorgeous landscaping with the scalloped mulch bed, outlined with bricks. The bricks make this ordinary mulch bed seem very polished.

This old Richmond house is filled with character and charm. My favorite room would have to be the family room. I just love how practical and comfy it is while being luxurious at the same time. I love the turquoise and gold accents through out the house too. She did a great job blending the rooms so they flow together nicely.

For questions about Jenny's house or suggestions for future house tours, please feel free to email me or send a Facebook message to The House of Holly! Hope you enjoyed :)
