A Taste of Richmond: Meet Max's on Broad

I absolutely LOVE this city! One of the many reasons being that you truly can't beat the food! My husband and I are quite the "foodies" and if there's a new restaurant to pop up- we're there! There are so many one of a kind restaurants in this town that often times you never hear about them. Just recently, we ate at Max's on Broad. 

The atmosphere is open with a vintage flair. Most of the artwork and decor are antiques collected from New York City. The bar has an old-city vibe with the industrial lighting and exposed beams.

There are two floors which make this Richmond restaurant extra spacious! Having a big venue is key, because you rarely have a wait & is ideal for kids and/or large parties.

Here's the upstairs…perfect for a rehearsal diner or event!

They have an awesome drink selection too! This was my favorite, its a Belgian Raspberry Beer called Lindeman's Lambic Framboise. Cheers :) 

Here's what we had for Dinner (don't worry it was 6 of us):

Top Left: Salmon Napoleon. Florentine, puff pastry, lobster fennel cream, vegetables, rice Top Right: Osso Buco. Red wine braised veal shank, vegetables & mashed potatoes Bottom Left: Fish & Chips. Belgian beer-battered cod, fennel apple slaw, old bay remoulade Bottom Right: Monkfish. Shrimp cream sauce, crab meat, asparagus & wild rice.

Top Left: Lobster Ravioli 

Top Right: French Onion Soup

Bottom Left: Grilled Calamari. Garlic, unfiltered olive oil, white bean, red pepper, lemon, arugula

Bottom Right: Braised Short Ribs. Brussels sprouts & mashed potatoes

I sampled all of these delicious entrees. My favorites were the Calamari, Osso Buco, and Lobster Ravioli. I would certainly recommend this restaurant because of its unique atmosphere and variety of food.  If there's a picky eater in your party, they will surely be able to find something! Max's on Broad is owned by the same family that owns Tarrant's, just across the street.
