Without a doubt, the most beautiful beach imaginable! Turks & Caicos is the ultimate getaway and one of my all-time favorite destinations! Only 4 hours travel time from RVA, its a quick flight for such a gorgeous & relaxing vacation. From Hawaii to Europe, and just about everywhere in the Caribbean, we love to travel and have been on some awesome vacations! This one is definitely up there on the list, here are some pictures from our trip to Turks, with a little narration in between ;)
I've been to Turks & Caicos twice now. The first time we stayed at the Regent Palms and this time we stayed at the Beaches Resort, primarily because it's kid-friendly for our 18 month old daughter ;) Oh how times have changed! I have to admit, I was blown away! We've stayed at other Sandals resorts, most recent being in Exuma. That was nice, but I'd have to say the Beaches at Turks & Caicos takes the cake! There are four villages at Beaches in T&C, Key West (the newest), Italian (the main location), French & Carribean. We stayed in the Key West village and loved it, it was very quiet and accommodated larger families. We had a villa, which is pictured below.
Three stories, with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, 3 balconies overlooking a pool & courtyard. I would recommend staying in the Key West or Italian village! Here's Dustin headed out :)
Reagan was on cloud nine the entire trip, she learned how to collect shells and finally got comfortable with the idea of sand. By the end of the trip she was digging up a storm and running full speed into the water!
There's a pretty impressive water park & lazy river in the Italian village. Reagan loved going down the water slide & stopping by "Bobby Dee's" for her regular vanilla ice cream cone, which she insisted on holding herself!
She became a balloon-aholic this trip making it a requirement for nanny to get her some whenever she spotted them! Have I mentioned, she's a nanny's girl?!
She also discovered not only can she pick the flowers, she can wear them in her hair too! This turned into a daily routine...
She was introduced to the characters of Sesame Street, and is now obsessed with Elmo & Cookie Monster! We took her to a character breakfast and she had the best time visiting & dancing with all the characters! She never got scared, which was surprising based on her previous interactions with Santa & Easter Bunny!
Even after the sun goes down, there's plenty still to do!
There was live entertainment each night. The first night we went to a Street parade, which Reagan loved seeing. There were performances by the pool one night, and the last night was a beach party where my mom got on stage for a dance-off!
Street Parade
Pool-Side Performances
Playing the saxophone on a floating stage in the pool.
A little singing & dancing too ;)
Beach Party
Our last night at T&C, we went to the beach party where my mom got pulled on stage for a dance-off! Look at her move! haha…she's gonna kill me ;)
The highlights of our vacation would have to be the turquoise water & pristine beach. There were never any waves, the water is smooth like glass, which was perfect for Reagan! The ever-flowing drinks were also a plus ;) Rum + Punch was my drink of choice!
Overall, I would rate this vacation an "A", all the way! It's great for families and there's tons to do for all ages. The hotel was super clean & the employees were incredibly friendly! The food was good, although it started getting repetitive towards the end of the trip. There are 19 restaurants on the property, our favorites were Soy, Marios, and Arizona. I've got to say, I'm missing the morning breakfast buffets ;)
It's good to relax and have a family getaway but there's nothing like home sweet home, and I'm glad to be back with my doggies & edamame hummus ;)
